Gunbeats – Art in the form of Dystopian Web Design (Response to Emanuel AME Church Massacre)

Hey guys,

Below you will find a gif I created of a screen recording I took of a Dystopian Web Design piece that one of my friends showed me a while back… (Wow, that was a mouthful). I wanted to include the gif so that you guys could get an idea of the site but it really doesn’t do the site justice so definitely click the link HERE to check it out!!

The piece, called Gunbeats, was created in response to the Emanuel AME Church Massacre.

On the Dystopia page of DISmagazine.com, Gunbeats is followed by the following description, “I feel like I’m drowning at sea and all I see around me are beautiful bodies that look just like my own.” I find the Web Design to be a powerful response to the Emanuel AME Church Massacre, because when trying to navigate the site one really does feel helpless and vulnerable.

The Web Design and visual art was created by Mark Sabb for Felt Zine. The piece was presented by Young Colored and Angry, with Web Design and Visual Art by Mark Sabb, Music by Shabazz Palaces, and Text (which you can find by clicking INFO) by Malcolm X.
