Living Typography

When one imagines the creation of a typeface, most think of sitting in front of a computer screen or fumbling around with metal. In drastic contrast, this project literally grows one using bacteria in petri dishes. To me, this is a wonderfully inventive entry into the controversial world of typography.

  1. Yes!! There is a class at Penn for on Bio-Art where they do projects like this, undergraduate students may be able to take it. If this is something you are interested in let me know!
